Description dprina 2006-08-13 15:18:23 UTC
In Italian language there are some words that end with the apostrophe and these
words without the apostrophe are wrong.

As an example the word po' is correct, but the words po and pò are wrong (it is
correct the word Po: the name of the major Italian river; but it start with the
uppercase 'P').

You need a breakiterator patch for Italian language. See breakiterator related
issues (for example: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=64400).

I'm not sure of that ... tell me if I'm wrong or I'm right ...

If the apostrophe is the Italian breakiterator so if I write:

1) "un'alunna" (schoolgirl in English) it is been checked the two strings "un"
and "alunna" and all is not signed as wrong. This is ok

2) "un'alunno" (schoolboy in English) it is been checked the two strings "un"
and "alunno" and all is not signed as wrong. This is not ok becouse "un'alunno"
is a wrong combination it must be "un alunno" without the apostrophe ... but it
is a grammar checking error, so spell checker can not see it

3) "all'alunno" it is been checked the two strings "all" and "alunno", but "all"
is not a corrected Italian word so "all'alunno" is marked as wrong ("all'alunno"
is "allo alunno")

See Issue 62226, this is a duplicate. The general issue for these bugs may be
Issue 64400.
