Description egle 2002-08-10 15:39:51 UTC
When opening MS Word template document I met these problems:

1. OO doesn't display frame with picture and text in Document header.
2. In the lower right corner has to be field, that displays path and file name,
but OO instead of such field inserts field, which displays just file name and I
must manually change field type.
3. In MS Word document there are macros, which play the same role as
placeholders in OO - if I click it in the document - it is selected and the
text can be inserted in that place. But when I open this document with OO and
click on macro fields, they are not selected.

Or perhaps I need to register all problems as independent bugs?

The .dot file and .bmp file (how it has to look in MS Word) are attached.

Egle, thanks for posting this issue.

Yes, please split up this report into separate issues. One problem
per issue is the requirement.

Please see issue 3988 for the header problem. OOo can only handle
graphic objects inside the header.

Thank you for using and supporting OOo.

*** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 3988 ***
Comment 5 egle 2002-09-25 13:03:46 UTC
I've split this bug -

issue 7887 is registered for problem 2.
issue 7888 is registered for problem 3.

But I don't know what to do with 1 problem, should I add comment to
issues 3988 and attach files to it or should I register new bug.
besides - what do you mean by saying - OOo can only handle
graphic objects inside the header - in the template, I've attached, a
simple National Emblem is inside header (in raster format) Can't it be
imported to OOo ?

I've reopened this bug as I'm not sure it really a dublicate of the
bug 3988. Sorry if I'm doing a misstake.

In my last comment I asked a question. It would be very good if you
could answer, then I would know what I have to do with the object in
header problem - should I register a new bug, etc..

Thank you.

cmc->egle: You're dead right. Its drawing objects that are problematic
in headers and footers, e.g. polygons and other shapes,
straightforward graphics are ok. And this document's graphic is ok in
my developer ver of SRX644m.
Comment 8 caolanm 2002-11-18 13:24:15 UTC
cmc->mru: Frame containing graphic working ok in SRX644m
Comment 9 caolanm 2002-11-18 13:24:53 UTC
reassign to qa.
Comment 10 michael.ruess 2002-11-28 15:11:50 UTC
Not only the 644 build, also the OpenOffice 643C build has the fix.
Graphic can now be imported properly.
