Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 69112
"Save as" menu inconsistency when opening HTML file
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:44:35 UTC
When I open an HTML file, I cannot find the option "ODT" in "save as" menu while this option is present in "export as" menu. The inverse procedure which is opening an ODT file presents the option "HTML" into the "save as" menu while I expected to find this option only in "export" menu. I think the two options should be coherent that is or both present into "export as" or into "save as" menu. Davide
Reassigned to ES.
ES->MMP: I think we had a spec on this. Please have a look at this.
.
We do have a File menu spec at http://specs.openoffice.org/appwide/menus/FileMenu.sxw However, what's still missing is a spec that defines the document format choices as requested by this issue. The issue is tough. Save As changes the type of the document that is currently displayed in the window. How do you deal with situations where certain features are not available in the other format? This is why Export just creates a new file of the requested type. Send > ODT to HTML need to be revised as well.
