Description jmainwar 2006-09-03 22:08:31 UTC
I created a blank Sudoku grid using an MS Word table. It's a nine by nine grid,
and every third row or column has a thicker border than the rest. Later I
imported it into Open Office writer 2.03, and all the borders were the same width.

I can make a grid with the right appearance using Open Office writer, but the
information should have been preserved when I imported the MS Word document.

Actually, it was easier to make the grid using Open Office -- Word kept changing
one border back to light when I tried to change another to heavy while. I was
working on the file.

I can confirm the import problem with "2.0.2 German version WIN XP:
[680m5(Build9011)]": Thicknes of all table borders is uniform when 'Sudoku
Grid.doc' will be opened in OOo.

MRU->HBRINKM: open attached document -> the table borders widths are imported
wrongly. the outer borders shoulöd have a width of 2 1/2 pt, while the others
are correctly of 1 pt. Also every third inner border line should be of 2 1/2 pt.

Windows XP with SP2
Java build 1.5.0_06-b05
OOo 2.0.3

This is another (more complex case) of table borders appearing differently in
MSWord and OOo.
The table is the result of a scan and save as an rtf file which has been
corrected with MSWord.
In OOo several cell borders are rendered as a black line where MSWord shows no
visible border eg the cells under 12 19 26 November have a black underline in
OOo and not in MSWord

“I got unexpected outcome of copying the table from the attached word document
and pasting it into the Open-Office 2.0.3 and 2.1 build on Windows XP Home
Edition and Professional Edition (Service Pack 2).
When I tried to open any other normal word text-based document of
any .doc/.odt format on Windows XP Home and Professional Editions (Service
Pack 2) I was able to perform the copying without any problem.
I was also able to perform successful copying from the same attached word
document into the Open-Office 2.0.3 and 2.1 build when I rebooted into Linux
Content OS Release 4.4, and using the (Kernel Red 2.6.9-42.03.EL.CSE.smp)
Linux build without any problems or losses.â€
