Description alistairlow 2006-10-09 23:03:15 UTC
I use a dark Windows theme with light blue text
(http://www.customize.org/details/31027, black version), but OpenOffice.org
doesn't render the text on buttons in the correct font and colour. The result is
black text on a dark grey button which is unreadable.

Steps to reproduce:
- Install Simple Plan visual style in Windows XP.
- Select the Black colour scheme.
- Start any OpenOffice.org application.
- Open Tools->Options or Find and Replace etc.
- The text on the buttons is dark instead of light blue.

alistairlow,
I give up - how do I get Windows to use that theme?

Still can't get it to use SPLan.msstyles.
More info?

You need to patch the uxtheme.dll and restart, then you should be able to double
click the .msstyle file and the display properties window should pop up showing
the new theme. Then click apply. If that doesn't work then I'm not sure what's
wrong.

Confirming - some UI elements do not use theme colors. See attached
screenshot - circled in green is "Save as" dialog from IE, circled in red -
 "Save as" dialog by Office.

@alistairlow: can you still reproduce this in a current version?

Yes, the issue still exists in OpenOffice.org 3.0 RC1.

@PB:

* Installation
- Download the theme (direct link):
http://archive.customize.org/files/stylexp/SimplePlan1-0.zip
- download and execute the uxtheme.dll patcher
http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/UXTheme-MultiPatcher-Download-2369.html
- execute the patcher
- reboot
- unpack the theme:
- copy the ttf into the font dir and double-click on the *.msstyles file
- apply

As described, font and colors don't match for some controls.
