WW8: crash opening 57 documents at same time

when opening 112 old MS-doc-files ( to search something ) by marking files with MS-File-Explorer and double-click opening stopped after opening several files and file-recovery procedure startet but also aborted. opening OO-Writer recovery-procedure continued but did not reach reporting status. I used OO 2.0.3 and Win XP sorry for tough opening ! Bernhard
@krumm: I'm sorry, but we can not follow up such a general bug report. Please feel free to open new issues for your problem reports, but please first read our guidelines on <http://qa.openoffice.org/issue_handling/pre_submission.html> and <http://www.openoffice.org/bugs/bug_writing_guidelines.html>, then contribute a clear step by step instruction containing every key press and every mouse click how to reproduce the problem and also attach sample documents so that we can try to reproduce your prolbems. Problem opening several Files ( 121 MS-Doc Files ) Problem occurred first using OO 2.0.3 Problem could be repeated several times first using OO 2.0.4 I started MS Explorer.Exe (Win-E) I selected 121 files >> I marked all files - clicking once on first file - Ctrl-Shift-Ende opening the files with OpenOffice - Enter screen popped up: openening 121 files may take long time, do You want to continue ? I confirmed OO looked like opening many files OO Recovery screens popped up -I selected start recovery >> program showed successfully recovered - I selected NEXT OO looked like opening many files OO Recovery screens popped up showing almost all same files as above -I selected start recovery >> program showed successfully recovered - I selected NEXT OO looked like opening many files OO Recovery screens popped up showing almost all same files as above -I selected start recovery >> program showed successfully recovered - I selected NEXT OO looked like opening many files OO Recovery screens pops up showing almost all same files as above -I selected start recovery >> program showed successfully recovered - I selected NEXT OO looked like opening many files OO Recovery screens pops up showing almost all same files as above - cancel >> are You sure to cancel recovery - YES recovery of these files cancelled OO looks like opening many files ( continues with other files ) OO Recovery screens pops up showing other files as above - cancel >> are You sure to cancel recovery - YES recovery of these files cancelled OO looks like opening many files >> 44 files opened trying to repeat I got the screen Soffice-Application-Error I closed all apps, downed my PC, startet the PC again, repeated the problem marked all files as above hit enter to open the files recovery screen popped up on top of it this screens popped up 2 times - Soffice-Application-Error on top of it this screens popped up 4 times - Soffice-Application-Error then I canceled the recovery screen it continued with the other files then I canceled the recovery screen 2nd time it continued with the other files then I canceled the recovery screen 3rd time it continued and opened remaining 37 files
I can confirm the problem with "2.0.2 German version WIN XP: [680m5(Build9011)]" and also "2.0.4 German version WIN XP: [680m5(Build9073)]" Steps to reproduce: 1. Start WRITER 2. Menu "File - Open" 3. Change to folder with all documents from attached 'R-1998.zip' 4. mouseclick on first document in list 5. Scroll to last document, press <shift> + mouseclick on last document from list 4. Click open, and OOo will start to open all documents one by one. expected: all documents will be opened actual: OOo crashes opening the 56th (?) document. It does not matter whether you use OOo or WIN dialogues. Unfortunately I was not abele to create a crash report. I did not check whether the problem will also appear for .odt files I am pretty sure that we had a similar problem with opening too many files in an older issue, I will check that. I will also check whether it will be possible to open moe than 55 files one after the other, not a "bulk"
I also see the crash when I open files from WIN Explorer with double click. I opened files with a random order so that it can't be a problem with the 50th document. I was able to create a crash report, ID will be contributed ASAP
No crash with "1.1.4 (German) WIN XP: [645m52 (Build 8824)]"
I am using Win XP, engl, Version 2002, SP1, (sorry ) AMD XP 1800+, 1,53 GHz, 1024 MB RAM Bernhard
The ID of the error report is rypjy6. The report has been created using 680m188, but the crash happened using "2.0.3RC5 German version WIN XP: [680m5(Build9036)]" (or "2.0.2 German version WIN XP: [680m5(Build9011)]"? I don't remember).

MRU->HBRINKM: I cut this down a little bit. See my latest attachment. These 57 files will make OO crash when opening at same time. Just uncompress the archieve into a folder, select all 57 files and drop into OO -> crash when OO tries to open the last file. Unfortunaely OO doesn't give me a chance to send a report.
according to release status meeting: target 3.x
Reset assigne to the default "issues@openoffice.apache.org".
