I saved a OO spreadsheet file and quit OpenOffice.
The quick start stayed alive.
If I try to delete the file I lately saved,
then I get a Windows error message
which says my file is being used.

You use native Windows dialogs. Then this is Windows problem, not OOo.
Use OOo dialogs to prevent Windows from locking files.

pmike, I don't understand. When I close an openoffice document then open office
should release any related lock. That's not a Windows issue I mean.
