Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 71054
openoffice cannot deal with icc profiles
Last modified: 2013-02-07 22:00:25 UTC
openoffice cannot show (import) correctly images (jpeg, tiff, bmp etc) with attached icc color profiles whereas ms word xp (2002) is able to do that. for many people who are wiriting scientific papers, dissertations etc this would be a very important function, especially for exporting to pdf, mainly because all-in-all openoffice is a much more reliable program than ms word. of course this feature would be important for all components of openoffice (draw, impress, calc)
Could you please attach a sample graphic which contains such an icc color profile to this issue? Thanks a lot!

1/11/06 now i uploaded the requested graphic with with embedded icc color profile. when it is imported to openoffice it looks similar, but not exactly the same. especially the greens and the magenta are different. to view it corrtecly i recommend to open it with a program like thumbsplus, photoshop or corel paint shop pro - of course with the correct settings. (but i suppose you know all that.)
Tested with OOo2.0.4, WinXP PC. Confirmed- OOo doesn't apply colour correction. Compared to Corel PaintShop Pro X in the attached screenshot. Cannot comment on how valuable this RFE is... Regards, Andrew.
MRU->SJ: maybe the graphic filters could be enhanced by this somehow.

Created attachment 40221 [details] adobergb1998 pic in ms word
hi andrew, now i created a screenshot of the same pic imported to ms word. that's it. i think the graphic filters of oo could be improved. i know only one opensource prog that can deal with icc profiles: scribus. but writing dissertations with scribus is not very smart ... thank you very much! regards anna
