Description Rainer Bielefeld 2006-11-10 16:09:10 UTC
Testing the reported problems in Issue 60681, I created a document
'myowntest.odt' where I saw a strange behaviour: descending sort worked fine,
ascending sort for the table did not work. Please use the attachment from Issue
60681 for your tests:

It's not a general problem, I tested with several other Tables for "2.0.2
German version WIN XP: [680m5(Build9011)]" and for first I was not able to
reproduce the problem.

Now I am pretty sure that I understood the problem.

Steps to reproduce:

1. open new document.
2. Menu "Table - Insert - Table"
3. set "1 column", 5 rows
4. Uncheck "heading"
5. <ok>
6. now fill all rows one by one with one letter "z", "b", "c", "d", "e"
7. mark all rows and try to sort alphanumeric ascending / descending, and
   all will wor fine.

Now a second test:
11. open new document.
12. Menu "Table - Insert - Table"
13. set "1 column", 5 rows
4. *Check* "heading", "repeat heading", "1 row"
5. <ok>
6. now fill all rows one by one with one letter "z", "b", "c", "d", "e"
7. Mark complete table content and select "Standard"
8. mark all rows and try to sort alphanumeric ascending / descending
expected: sort order ascending / descending
actual: sort ascending seems to work incorrectly, because "z" remains
in the first row. The reason seems to be that the first row still
is handled as a table heading, even after Menu "Format - Standard"

The heading format style is nearby invisible, what is really worrying.
The spook will disappear after you unchecked "repeat heading" in Menu "Table -
Table Propeties".

So I believe the property "Table Heading" should be displayed (somehow) to avoid
such misapprehension.

Reassigned to requirements.
Good be a good thing to add in Tools.Options.Appearance. There one should
perhaps have the possibility to configure a color for table heading rows...
