Given the lack of split pane editing it should be possible to open a document 
twice. An information dialog should be presented giving the option to open the 
document again in read only mode or simply switching to the current document 
window and the document should open in a new window. Currently this is the only 
way of getting two views on the same document. Vital if the part of the 
document you are editing reference parts of the document scattered within it !!

Please do split panes !!
