Description caolanm 2006-11-27 10:52:27 UTC
If you load the attached .ppt and run full screen under the cairo canvas then
the pictures don't smoothly fade out and the new replacement fade in, but appear
in their final opacity after a long lag.

Disabling the cairo canvas and using the VCL one gives a stuttering effect, but
at least it sort of fades in and out

@rodo: don't see this effect here - could you have a look?

I'm experiencing slow/stuttering/all-round-poor fade through black slide
transitions as well. This is with OO 2.4.2 on Fedora 9 (during today's
presentation) and OO 3.0 on Fedora 10 (tested just now). The OO 2.4.2 was on a
one-year-old laptop (toshiba satellite a200 ah-6). The OO 3.0 was on my main
desktop machine (4 year old generic PC, nvidia card).

I had a fast fade-through-black set on all slides, as I think it's the most
professional of all transitions, or would be, if it were smooth. I couldn't get
to the second slide with space or arrow or mouse. Pressing escape took 5-10
seconds to stop the presentation.

The solution was to delete all slide transitions. The symptoms went away.

It looks like this has been a problem for years, except it doesn't affect
developer's machines. :-)

Yeah, still pretty crappy for me in 3.1.1 on i915 chip. I had originally sort of
assumed it was cruddy due to nv.
