Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 72161
[A11y] No way to get at indentation information in Writer.
Last modified: 2007-08-22 10:28:53 UTC
This was entered in the SOffice database as: https://so-web.germany.sun.com/iBIS/servlet/edit.TaskFormServlet?tid=137416 We're finding that database difficult to access and use, so we're 'moving' the bug here since it also applies to OOo. The main problem is that indentation information is not accurate or available. The impact is that blind users cannot tell indentation level.
Description from Bugtracker: Startup Writer and create a small document with: The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog. Position the text caret at the beginning of the "brown fox" line and use the "Increase Indent" icon from the toolbar line to add an indentation to this line. Now from the Orca screen reader, there is apparently no way to get at that indent information. What we want to be able to do is to know that it's there and how wide it is (in screen pixels). OBR->ES: this should be fixed with integration of a11y204 (left-margin). Please verify. ES: yes it is (m181)!
Ok in m181
I believe this problem still exists in OOo v2.1. Will could you please reopen this bug; I don't have permission to do so.
Reopening based upon Rich's comments/request.
@Willie/Rich: I checked this issue using at-poke. at-poke delivers following accessible info: indent:0,00mm right-margin:0,00mm left-margin:12,51mm when I type some text in a Writer and press the Increase indent icon. Indeed Orca may look for "indent" while the value to look for is "margin-left" Can you check this please?
Isn't this a duplicate of issue 72262 ?
@OBR: Thanx! I new we had it already but didn't find it on querying %-/ *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 72262 ***
