Description berend.cornelius 2006-12-14 13:59:08 UTC
OpenOffice uses an own scheme for its Urls. The developer's guide should refer
to this scheme in a way.
I would like to refer to this Url-documentation in the coming chapter of the
"Uno-AWT documentation" that describes the creation of user interfaces of
extensions. In the special case that I have in mind an Image control which
supports the service "com.sun.star.awt.UnoControlImageControlModel" contains a
property "ImageUrl" of String type. This property refers to the location of an
image file.
For this purpose I would like the Url-documentation to contain a description of
the service "com.sun.star.ucb.FileContentProvider" and the interface
"XFileIdentifierConverter" that assist the developer to create urls from system
paths (e.g. method "getFileURLFromSystemPath").

OpenOffice does not "use[...] an own scheme for its Urls." What is probably
meant here is that URE/OOo interpret (file) URLs in a way different from how
other applications typically interpret those URLs. What I can offer is to add
to the Developer's Guide information about the UNO service
com.sun.star.uri.ExternalUriReferenceTranslator (see the UNOIDL documentation
available for that service and its interface). If you additionally ask for
information about UCB-related stuff, please file an additional issue for abi.
