Description joaniediggs 2006-12-15 21:11:14 UTC
According to the at-spi IDL, getAttributes is deprecated in favor of
getAttributeRun.
(please see
http://www.gnome.org/~billh/at-spi-idl/html/interfaceAccessibility_1_1Text.html#a7)

However, if you use getAttributeRun, OOo Writer and Calc crash and goes into
Document Recovery mode.

ES->joaniediggs: is ther a way to reproduce this "manually" i.e. give a step by
step description of a reproduciblescenario. Thank you!

The way I've been able to cause it to happen is by using getAttributeRun in an
Orca script I'm working on. Rather than ask you to get Orca AND try my script,
I asked Rich Burridge if he could create an Orca-independent Python script for
you.

Upon further investigation, Rich believes it might be atk/gail-related (as he
can use his script to crash gedit as well). Rich filed a bug against gail
(http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=387960) and suggested that we close
this issue for now.

Thanks for your help and sorry for any inconvenience!
