Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 72845
when creating a chart from a single empty cell as default 'first row/col as label' should not be checked
Last modified: 2013-09-25 20:41:51 UTC
If you create a Chart from a single Column the Options First Row /column as label are disabled. If you create an empty chart ( from a cell without content) and change the data range into step 2 of the wizard, the Options First Row /column as label are enabled. Preview shows also an empty chart.

I can't quite reproduce. The check-boxes are only disabled when the range is empty. Maybe you mean unchecked instead. What I can reproduce is: Create a chart with no range, change the range to a single column of numbers => you get first row/column both checked, whereas this is not the case when you had those switches initially. (Difference: Calc does a check what check-boxes should be checked for the initial range. Later the chart itself would have to decide this for a changed data-range)
Changed subject to make more clear what the problem is.
Adjusted the prio, as this is only about better defaults.
changed summary to something more meaningful changed prio to 5 as this will rarely affect anybody noticeably furthermore removed keyword and 'new chart:' from summary as the old chart shows the same behaviour
