Description Rainer Bielefeld 2007-01-03 17:05:40 UTC
I checked with "2.0.2 German version WIN XP: [680m5(Build9011)]" and found,
that the automatic text field resize does not work reliable. Steps to reproduce:

1. Open attached 'testfile1.odg'
2. click first text field
3. check Menu 'Format - Text'
Amend height and amend width should be checked
4. Mark all page contents with <cntrl>+<a>
5. Menu 'Edit - Search and Replace'
6. Enter "text" for search and "textsize" for replace
   <Replace All>
expected: in all text fields "text" should be replace by "textsize" and
width of text field should be increased
actual: sometimes as expected, mostly one or more fields with increase
of text field height and text "textsize" chopped

I am seeing a bit different result with OO 2.1 on WinXP - first text field
increases it's height, the other two increase their width. I am attaching

any chance you could retest with OO 2.1?

I checked with "2.1.0 German version WIN XP: [680m6(Build9095)]" and can
confirm kpalagin's result.
If you check checkbox "backwards" for search, the last text will change the
height, not the first. I did not test other effects systematically, currently I
always only get one text field with unexpected increase of heitht.

Set to new and change the target
Comment 8 christian.guenther 2007-01-08 14:12:08 UTC
I can reproduce the bug.
Set a textbox by clicking into the slide.
write some text into it.
Raise a textbox and write some text in it (the same like above).
change into the 'Format/Text' dialog and select 'Fit width to text
'edit/Find & Replace' with a longer text
click on Replace all
one text is broken (the raised textbox) one is not broken.
Please have a look.
