In konqueror you may point to a zip archive and open it so it will be shown like
a usual directory. Opening a OpenOffice document there does not work however if
a blank is included in the document's filename.

The reason is the %U parameter in the Exec-Line in the .desktop files
(/usr/share/applications). Replace it with %F and it works.

Exec=openoffice.org-2.1 -writer %F

I don't know whether this has unwanted side effects.

Confirming with OO 2.0.4 (Novell's build) on SuSe10.2 - if .zip is located on
local file system then files with spaces in name cause error when opening.

OTOH, if .zip is located on the network (say smb://) then files from that
archive can be opened just fine.

Congratulations!

After nearly seven (7!) years someone to respond here...

Don't ask me about details of the issue here. Can't remember.

Over the time I've encountered and reported more severe bugs but still no one cares.
