Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 73807
object positioning bug
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:19:57 UTC
Hi. Please... - open the attached document - select the drawing object - press cursor-up-key a longer time (for example 30 seconds) - now press cursor-key-down a few times: the object does not move! - try to move it down a bit using the mouse: the object jumps back to the upper page margin The same problem happens with the bottom, left and right page margin, too. It looks like there is a bug in writer that does not stop to increase a position value when objects that are moved by cursor keys collide with a page margin.

Found on SO8 PU5 Linux.
Confirming with OO 2.1 on WinXP.
MRU->OS: it looks, that all the keystrokes are stored when an object is moved towards/at the page border. When pressing / holding "Cursor up" key a lot of times (object at upper margin) it needs the same number of "Cursor down" strokes to start the object moving down. Superfluous keystrokes should be ignored.
"it looks, that all the keystrokes are stored when an object is moved towards/at the page border." When saving the file after trying to move it behind the border as described, the problem appears after re-opening the file, too.
The same after cut and paste.
So it looks like that the "wrong position" is stored as object property.
> it looks, that all the keystrokes are stored No, a similar problem can be reproduced by dragging objects using the mouse. Please have a look at Issue 98373.
