Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 73844
OLE objects initially displayed as error graphic after reopening document
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:42:35 UTC
OOo 2.2 beta 2: Objects in writer documents are to be seen with a placeholder. new inserted objects (calc-sheets) are to be seen, after saving and reading in also the new objects are shown with placeholders. 25.1.2007
I can confirm this on windows and linux (Sun and Community builds are both affected). It seems, the objects are completely broken after loading the document. E.g. if you try to delete the object, OOo will crash. Docuemnt recovery fails to restore the embedded object. To reproduce: - create a new writer document - insert an OLE object (calc or draw) - save and close the writer document - open the document again -> the object's content cannot be displayed - delete the object -> crash
The crash when deleting the object is already tracked (and fixed) as issue 73724. Thus I lowered the prio to P3. MRU->MAV: When inserting an OO OLE object into Writer, save the Writer document, close and reopen, the OLE object will initally by displayed with the roor graphic. The object will still work correctly when doubleclicking and show the correct content, but initially after opening the document it is wrongly displayed. This works correctly in SRC680m200 build, but not in OOF680m2.
The replacement image was lost on loading. Fixed.
pb -> mru: please verify, thx.
Verified fix in CWS fwk63.
