Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 74257
Saving particular.ods with VBA macros shows "General input/output error"
Last modified: 2017-05-20 09:55:42 UTC
Whenever I try to save the file from http://www.mytempdir.com/1206501 (password - "OpenOffice" without quotes) I get "General input/output error". Repro steps: 1. Open the file. 2. Click File, Save As and type different name. After pause Calc displays error message. IMO, this might qualify as release blocker. Happens with 2.2 m1 and m5 on WinXP. M6 is not tested yet.
Hi Niklas, please have a look at this one. Progressbar finishes and the toolbars should become active again but got an General IO Error instead. Frank

Do you still have the Excel file from which this was imported (created with a Russian language Excel, I assume)?
nn, it takes aprox 4 minutes to to open on Athlon 2600+ (which could be an issue by itself): http://community.i-rs.ru/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=3048.0;attach=2114
Unpacked version - http://www.mytempdir.com/1207374 password - "openOffice" (without quotes).
The Excel file contains Basic module names like "ЛиÑÑ‚1", which are imported that way into our Basic. Our Basic uses the module names as stream names in the file, where non-ASCII characters aren't allowed. With these names, loading and saving the ods file leads to invalid UTF8 sequences in manifest.xml, which causes an exception when saving.
Niklas, thanks for such quick response! Two questions: 1. How come it is possible to generate .ods initially? (I only get failure on second save). 2. Is there a possibility of improving load and save times of original .xls? That is, if I file an issue for that, will it be addressed?
You may file an issue for 2), I will have a look
Daniel, thanks a lot for your attention. I have filed an issue for slow load http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=74505

change target from 2.x to 3.x according to http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Target_3x
I only can open the document with AOO 2.0.2, all other versions fail to open. Also impossible to open with LibO 4.2. This is a "problem with 1 single document in the world" issue with a document what can't be opened any longer with AOO, what means "WONTFIX".
