Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 74297
distribution of hyph_et_EE.dic violates the LPPL
Last modified: 2010-09-02 15:41:12 UTC
hyph_et_EE.dic, as found in http://ftp.services.openoffice.org/pub/OpenOffice.org/contrib/dictionaries/hyph_et_EE.zip is derived from a file licensed under the LPPL, but it violates at least paragraph 6d of the LPPL. Needed information: Either distribute the original file as well, or (better) name the file and the version of the file which the derived work is based on. The LPPL requests "Information that is sufficient to obtain a complete, unmodified copy of the Work." The LPPL can be found at http://www.latex-project.org/lppl.txt
Jaak Pruulmann replied: I believe that I got the original file from http://www.cs.ut.ee/~tqnu/tex.html (link "poolituse"). It seems to refer to a file that has somewhat updated copyright information but that has the same functional part. Attached is a tgz that contains the file as I got it in 2003, sed-script that converts it to OOO-format (removes comments, declares charset and translates non-ASCII symbols), the result of that conversion and the new source file. The speller-page (http://www.meso.ee/~jjpp/speller/) already contains almost all of the information in tgz. It also has a link to CTAN archive. Does this mean that I don't have to change the webpage (as there is no separate README..)? Probably You can modify the readme in OOO as well -- it is compiled by Ain Vagula just for OOO..
Created attachment 42834 [details] base files for the derived work
SBA: Confirming 21 sub-issues of issue 74283 at once. I believe that doko did the right thing and could/should have set the issues to NEW right after submitting (Just like all "CanConfirm rights owners" do when submitting issues) Thus I beieve that taking a second look at EACH of these files is not worth the effort. The state "Unconfirmed" is irritating queries used in daily QA work.
*** Issue 74269 has been marked as a duplicate of this issue. ***
