I have a file (imported from MS Word) with a line impossible to remove.

The linie is a border of the paragraph. Therefore you have to remove it in the
tab "Borders" of the paragraph style properties.

This is a known problem in handling of this simple lines, see issue 21299. You
might also have a look at issue 25993 for some further difficult situations.

The help will get an additional text, see issue 70968.

As an additional comment:
As this 'issue' is coming around so frequent - seeing the vast number of
duplicates ...
Could this be avoided with a more user-friendly 'delete-override' action or
message box when this is happening?

(It's always difficult to strictly follow conceptual formatting-rules and have a
user-friendly experience)
