Description murphyde 2002-09-05 14:08:29 UTC
When importing a StarOffice 5-Document (my degree dissertation, language German)
the protected spaces (CTRL-Space) are being converted to the character "ÿ"
("ÿ"). Didn't try that with other ducuments yet.
Comment 1 murphyde 2002-09-05 14:17:35 UTC
Addition: This only happens in some special cases:
One time there was a german end quotation mark (“) before and a
footnote after.
The second was between an uppercase character ("L") and a number ("4").

Thanks for posting Marin.

Could you please attach all the files we need to reproduce this issue?

Thanks.

This file crashes OOo 643. See issue 8557.
Comment 5 prgmgr 2002-10-26 20:02:11 UTC
Duplicated on RH 8.0, RH OOo 1.0.1.

I don't have SO5 so I cannot see what the doc looks like in there.

However I do see the "y" character the user is referring to on the
bottom of page 4, last line.

Hi Martin!

It looks like a bug (or an accident) of SO 5.0, "hidden" in the 5.2.
Could reproduced this in any current 6x version but saving this doc in
SO5.2 cleans the problem.

ES->MIB: do you want to have a look at this? I rate this as an
"accident" but, who knows...?
