Description whennings 2007-03-16 14:10:02 UTC
I start with a LaTeX file containing equations and convert this to OpenOffice
.odt using TeX4ht. Open the .odt in OpenOffice 2.1, equations display
correctly and are editable. "Save as" "Microsoft Word 97/2000/XP" .doc. Open
the .doc in Microsoft Word 2003: Most equations are missing, some of the ones
which are displayed are displayed incorrectly (this can be fixed by loading
them into Equation Editor).

To make reproducing the bug more easy the test files can be downloaded from
http://latex2rtf.sourceforge.net/testfiles.html

Could you please check the links on the mentioned site? They all point to the
Latex files.
Best would be to attach the odt version of the document to this issue. thanks a lot!

I confirm that this happens. Practically all equations are rendered wrongly.
However, if you double-click them the Equation Editor opens, and clicking again
on the equation the problem gets solved most of the times, and they get rendered
fine. In sum, a strange behaviour that needs to be fixed.

Well, that's one part of the problem. The other part are the equations which
don't show up in MS Word at all, and therefore cannot be opened in Equation
Editor because there is nothing one can double-click at.

Confirming with 2.2RC2 on WinXP - initial formula view is distorted. On
attached screenshot please see on the right side distorted view (in Word),
correct view in Writer (on the left side).
In Word, once I d-click the object and click out of it formula looks fine.
