It occurs only when salutation at step 4 is disabled!
Use a doc with linked picture for mailmerge.
- Launsch malimerge
- Disable salutation at step 4
- Go ahead to step 7
- Look to the document
-> Linked picture is lost.

I cannot reproduce this on an m217. How about a bugdoc?

Now it occurs different (680m218)
Save merged doc as individual and open one
The pic of the bugdoc is lost.
