Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 76931
Ctrl+ / Ctrl- should toggle/rotate between super/normal & sub-script
Last modified: 2013-02-07 22:42:14 UTC
NOTE: This bug was originally reported here - https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=10557 Problem - I believe I'm used to these toggling/rotating between super/normal & sub-script in some suitably cunning way; ie 1/2 can be C-+ 1 C-- / C-- 2 C-+ back-to-normal. Prolly worth having a poke to see how other suites do this. we should work out why this keybinding is different to people's notion of the standard - and fix that. Also - this function is not a 'make superscript' 'make subscript' feature - but a more powerful rotation through a set of options eg. State Action New-State subscr Ctrl+ normal normal Ctrl+ supers supers Ctrl- normal etc. [ at least, this is how I remember it being some decade ago - perhaps things have changed (?) ]
Just to note this function does exist: - Switch to subscript [ctrl+shft+b] (or cycle back to normal) - Switch to superscript [ctrl+shft+p] (or cycle back to normal) - Normal character position [ctrl+shft+space]. See Issue 62731 for some more info. However, maybe Ctrl+ /Ctrl- better meets user expectations?...
