When an HTML copy and paste, from the Weblog "Crooks and Liars", is performed
with the Writer, Writer crashes requiring its termination. The computer remains
totally functional. The URL of the site is http://www.crooksandliars.com/ . No
other Weblogs have ever encounter this problem on my machines. This problem
occurred when C and L  re-did there site. It used to work with Writer. MS Word
2002 handles the cut and paste without exception taken. This problem occurs on
all five of my PC's.

Cannot reproduce.
Which Browser did you use (tested with Firefox)?
Which version of OOo (have a look at menu "Help - About", press Ctrl+s,d,t)?
Did you get this version from the OOo Website?
Which content did you copy/paste exactly (I made Ctrl+A on the current page)?

Open Office Version OOP 2.2.0 Downloaded from the Open Office.org site

It stumbles on this one: I selected this single article from the middle of the
web page and not a whole page select for copy purposes. Writer stumbles slowly
and  when I left click it so that I can move it up or down with the mouse
button, the famous hour glass appears forever it would seem. Suspicious about
the diggit feature which seemed to arrive about the time of this problem as a
feature of the website. Again, only site that ever has done this to my Writer.

can't repro using Firefox 2.004 and Office 2.2.1RC3 on WinXP. I have tried 
copying from http://www.crooksandliars.com/index.php?
rand=20070610092655&paged=21 the text you specified and pasted it to Writer. 
After certain period Writer displayed error message (see 
http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/showvotes.cgi?issue_id=7553), but did not 
crash.
Resolvign as WFM.

Please retest yourself and see if you can repro the crash.
