Description denys_s 2007-06-12 21:52:55 UTC
While viewing a presentation in the fullscreen mode, transparent (and other)
elements of a template (except text and all pictures) are missing. The templates
I have used were the official ones from OpenOffice. But also some self-made ones
weren't showed correctly in the presentation. This bug appears only on
OpenOffice 2.2, older versions (2.1 and 2.0.4) work correctly. I haven't tested
it yet on the Release Candidates. It appears on Linux (x86). I was able to
reproduce this bug on a clean installation of Ubuntu 7.04.

I hope you will have it corrected in a short time, because this bug makes
working with Impress VERY hard, nearly impossible. I don't even speak about
presenting something.

Reduced prio to something sensible.

@denys_s: did you use the Ubuntu-provided packages, or downloaded directly from
openoffice.org? And could you check whether changing hardware acceleration in
tools->options->view fixes this?
Comment 5 denys_s 2007-06-13 13:21:04 UTC
@thb: I have used both packages. The first time those provided by Ubuntu, the
second time I have them downloaded from the openoffice.org. The result is the same.
Yes, I tried to solve the problem by changing the hardware acceleration. It
didn't help.

About the priority: If we leave it at P3, will it be ever corrected?
Comment 6 sh2606 2007-06-13 14:12:14 UTC
I have the same problem like denys_s. All hints doesn't work and i don't know
how to solve this problem.
Comment 7 christian.guenther 2007-06-13 17:56:46 UTC
I think also that it is an Ubuntu and not an OOo bug. But nevertheless could you
attach the document? Maybe it's a z-order bug.

Well, it doesn't look as it would be better. I've installed a clean installation
of Fedora 7 on my notebook and... There is the same problem. I have tried to use
another graphics driver for both computers (on which I've tested OOo) but there
is no change. The bug is there!

Because it is not a problem of a particular Linux distro, I change the priority
to the level P2.
Comment 10 kyleki 2007-07-24 16:47:58 UTC
I can confirm this from Fedora 7.

I wonder if it's been fixed in 2.2.1 since that's the version I'm running in
Windows and I can't duplicate the problem there. The latest OpenOffice.org
version in their updates repositories is 2.2.0.

Perhaps we should try removing the rpms and test install 2.2.1 from the
OpenOffice.org download site. If this fixes the problem, we need to pressure
the distros to get 2.2.1 in their repositories.
Comment 11 Joe Smith 2007-08-21 19:54:21 UTC
I can confirm this on Fedora 7 with 2.2.1, using Fedora rpms, or OO.org
download, or OOG680_m1.

It seems that any area fill that uses transparency does not appear at all in the
slideshow, either in fullscreen or window mode.

PDF and image export are fine.

I have a bugdoc while trying to nail down the problem; attaching it here just in
case it may be useful.

I hope this rather nasty problem does not make it into 2.3.

confirm with pjanik build m233 on debian i386 stable using both bugdocs, which
have so far been submitted to this issue [desc 9,13].
Comment 14 Joe Smith 2008-01-27 21:39:35 UTC
Running the current snapshot build (OOH680_m4) on Fedora Linux 8, the
transparency problem described here seems to be fixed. The problem document I
attached now displays correctly; I haven't checked the others.

Set to new and change the target
Comment 16 christian.guenther 2008-02-29 21:42:03 UTC
I can reproduce the bug in a 2.3.1 on my notebook with a Suse 10.1
It works correct with a 2.0
Please have a look.

Retargetting due to resource constraints
Comment 22 thb 2008-06-04 17:38:42 UTC
Ah, disregard the previous statement - I believe this issue is fixed, don't see
it in current 2.4.1 ooo-build versions nor in canvas05.
Comment 23 thb 2008-06-04 17:39:15 UTC
@cgu: could you verify this, please?

You are right.
It works correct now on my notebook.
