Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 78809
"Delete to End of Paragraph" deletes the next para when cursor isplaced in an empty paragraph
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:38:26 UTC
Hello, I did assign the function Edit->Delete Row to Cntrl+D under Tools-> Customize, Keyboard. Work fine if the row contains content but if you try to delete an empty line nothing happes. I assume this is a bug, should be easily reproducable (create doc with three lines the second empty and press 3 time Delete Row). Best regards, Lars
I cannot reproduce. Using OOo2.2.1 on winXP I reassigned ctrl+D to delete a row in a table. I could then (using the keyboard shortcut) delete a row in a table regardless of whether there was text in the row or not. It also didn't matter whether I selected the entire row or if the cursor was simply a cell within the row. Will close the issue until the user reopens with detailed instructions on how to reproduce.
Reassigned to ES, please double-check this. Thanks!
Hello, the issue has nothing todo with tables. It describes the issue of deleting a normal text line. Please try again (without table). Make three lines, second empty, place the cursor on the first and delete this line via shortcut. Try now to delete the empty line. Best regards, Lars
This function only deletes a line, not a paragraph. To execute what you expect, choose "Delete to End of Paragraph".

Hello, thank you but delete to end of paragraph has the same behavior (not deleting empty lines). Best regards, Lars
It works fine for me. Using "Delete to End of Paragraph", paragraph marks of empty paragraphs are deleted. Please explain step by step what you do and attach a sample document.
Hi, sorry I did an error in assigning the shortcuts. Now it deletes, but to much Example: Create the following document: [EmptyLine] TestLine Testline Place the cursor in the empty line and press Cntrl+D -> the empty line and the test line is deleted. I only want to delete the emtpy line. I would assume that is what "Delete Row" should stand for. Right now is is either not deleting or to much. Best regards, Lars
It's the same thing when you put the cursor to the very end of a paragraph and then execute "Delete to End of Paragraph": You would expect that nothing happens (items between cursor and end of paragraph: 0), but instead it deletes the *following* paragraph. When placing the cursor into an empty paragraph it's the same thing: "Delete to End of Paragraph" does not delete the paragraph in that the cursor currently is, but the one that follows.
