Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 78958
paragraph style changes occur without request just by visiting border and background tabpage
Last modified: 2017-05-20 10:55:31 UTC
Visiting certain tabs of the style editing dialog can cause changes to be logged for the style even though the user has not requested any specific changes. If the user then exits the dialog by 'OK' (either by mistake or by thinking no changes were made, therefore OK==Cancel), the changes will be committed to the style definition. See the attached document for an example. The same problem occurs with these two tabs on any style type that supports them; e.g. Stylist > Frame > Graphics > Background/Border, etc. The problem ONLY occurs when the parent/ancestor style has NO SPECIFIC SETTING for these properties. E.g., opening the sample document and immediately doing (style) Default > Modify > Background = (some color), then following the steps in the document will show the correct behavior for the Background tab. MRU->PB: you just need to create an empty Writer document to see this. Edit paragraph style "Default", click on "Borders" and on "Background" tabpage without changing anything, than "Organize" tab -> see that the "Contains" control lists "changes". "Background" problem was present in OO 1.1, "Border" problem not.
Similar (maybe same) issue for Calc: Issue 31583, Issue 32491.
target 3.x
This issue affects Calc & Writer - can the component please be changed to Framework. This issue probably causes (blocks?) issue 32491
