Add File statistics to Word Count tool

File | Properties | Statistics includes a number of useful statistics, but does not respect selection. Tools | Word Count respects selection but provides only word and character counts. Please unify these tools so that the same statistics found in File Properties will respect current selection as in Word Count.

I confirm this difference, but honestly I don't see much reason to have this unification. Word Count and Statistics always match in total words and characters, and I don't see any need to include selection counts in the Properties Statistics. Just my opinion.... sorry if it goes against others!
I'll offer our use case. We use Writer to edit course material that will be published in print. Most of our material arrives from third-party authors, so we usually don't have complete control of the document structure until after we have purchased the material. While evaluating their submissions, we often have a need to know line and paragraph counts in addition to word counts for purposes of estimating column lengths and learner credit hours. As submitted course material often includes outlines, abstracts, annotations, editorial comments, bibliographies, references, and so forth which we do not wish to include in these counts, we are normally interested in statistics of subsets of the file rather than the entire file.

And please insert into the statistical table the number of the space occurrence like in M$ Word. Note: in the currently used letter count statistic isn't correct (or the label isn't correct) because the space has been added to the full letter count.
