A HA concept for recovering from failures (even unnoticable to the user) is easy in many cases and works even without changing samba specifications for example. A HA concept, that simply forbids failures to happen is difficult, expensive, hardwaredependent and incompatible with almost everything. Regards, Patrick
Patrick, thank you for adding comments. I apologize, but I cannot determine what the problem is. You've included a piece of some on going conversation, but unfortunately the people who will review this issue will not know what the past history is. Please list step by step instructions to consistently reproduce this issue.
I complained about the error message when saving while samba is down. This situation is an expected one, if a failover in a HA cluster is happening. The end user should not be botherd with such an event, but a retry Button with a recommendation to wait 15 seconds seems acceptable to mee. This is Bug 7901 alias 7902 alias 7903 alias 7904. Additionaly, this is a crash bug under Windows, while it is more of a feature request under linux in others opinion. I dont know, why there are many numbers for the same bug. I resubmitted, becuase submission was refused. I suppose, that was the problem. Regards Patrick
