OpenOffice does not easily open Microsoft Works documents.  (Nor does MS Word.)

Novices who buy a new computer and start using the built-in wordprocessor, 
which is MS Works, should be able to upgrade easily to OpenOffice.  Currently 
the Works file format is not recognised by OpenOffice.
