Description shinobu_maehara 2007-07-05 18:22:28 UTC
Format painter toolbar button stays down but does nothing after clicking
another tool (like selection, or line, ...).
Actually the behaviour in Draw appears to be slightly different than in Writer.
In Draw:
*Click format painter -> cursor changes to format painter
*Click line tool -> cursor changes to drawing cursor
*Draw a line -> cursor returns to normal
*Click several objects -> no formatting is copied from one to the next
*Click format painter -> it turns off
*Click format painter again -> cursor changes to format painter
*You can now copy formatting again.
In Writer you have to click the line tool twice. After the first click you
cannot copy formatting anymore, just like in Draw. The first click turns the
cursor into the selection cursor. A second click on the line tool will make
the drawing cursor appear, from there on the symptoms are the same.

the format painter works correct in general.
With the format painter you can copy the format of one object to another.
- create an object
- change some settings of the object (e.g. line style and size, color,
transparency, ...)
- create another object
- select the first object
- click on the format painter icon
- click on the second object.
-> the second object has the same format like the first.

I can reproduce the bug.
here is a little different description
- create an object
- click on the format painter
- click on e.g. the line style
- deselect the object (click into the slide)
- the format painter stays selected.
-> when I click on another toolbar icon the format painter should be deselected.
