Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 79467
Cannot save just Window > Freeze
Last modified: 2007-07-27 19:37:38 UTC
If I click on Window > Freeze (in Calc), and alter nothing else in the document, I cannot save. This is also true for a just-created empty document.
Hi, thanks for your issue. You help us making OOo better! Only sheets that have been edited can be saved. It is no use to save an unchanged document. One can argue whether to change a view is a change to a document. For me it is not. So i close this issue as "works for me"
Reopening. For me, any change that has a persisting effect should be save-able. Consider this scenario: I open a document, just to have a look. I notice that window-freezing would be nice, so I go for it. When I'm done with reading, I close. And when I re-open the document tomorrow, the window-freezing is off again. Why? This behavior is inconsistent, especially if you bear this scenario in mind: I open a document, enter 1 into an empty cell, then delete it again. When I close, OOo asks if I want to save the changes. Which changes?? This is just to exemplify that OOo does accept certain changes which are (to the user) even more minor than window-freezing.
