Description jolatt 2007-07-14 08:39:21 UTC
If you want to change a cell in a protected table you get a warning that this
isn't possible.

But, if you want to create a diagram with the icon in the symbol bar by dragging
with the mouse there happens nothing. this is confusing for an inexperienced user.

There should come up a warning, that the table is protected.

Hi kapalagin,

you are right using the default chart button.
I have changed my symbol bars and added the chart button to the standard symbol
bar. I didn't keep in mind writing this issue.
With this button I can create in OOo 2.3.1 and 680m140 (Pavels build) a diagram
in a protected table.
But there is strange behaviour after creating the diagram in a protected table.
Deselect the the diagram by clicking in a cell you can't select the diagram
anymore (I think thats normal). Within the diagram you can select a cell, a
group of cells. Behavour is as there is no diagram. A double click in the
diagram results in highlighting a cell and the message, that a protected cell
can't be changed.
Think that shouldn't be so. I assume that there must be a message, that the
diagram can't be changed, not the cells under the diagram.

As discussed in users@de.openoffice.org there are two symbols for diagrams.
One 'diagram' the other 'insert diagram'. The last isn't greyed out if the table
is protected.

Confirming with 2.4m241 on WinXP - using "Insert chart" button on "Insert"
toolbar you can _create_ chart in otherwise protected sheet, not just click
the button.

Bug still exists in AOO 4.1.1.
The relevant button starts the chart wizard.
