MRU->OS: currently, if you insert a caption into your document, the language of
the caption's category it taken from the Applications UI language. If you edit
an English text in a German OOo, it is not desired to have "Tablle 1" or "Bild
1" as caption in English text...

The name of the label is by default created with the UI language. If you want to
have a different language or a different label name you can type in the desired
name into the related field in the caption dialog.

For me this is not a defect but an enhancement -> issue type changed

"The name of the label is by default created with the UI language." is a little
bit short. The names of the standard fields in category "Number Range" are taken
from the UI language. The text in the caption is build from the names of those
fields. Therefore you can get whatever text you like, if you define your own
'number range'-field. In the table caption dialog there is a drop-down-list to
choose which 'number range'-field to use.
