Description mdekkers 2002-10-02 07:45:16 UTC
When exporting a file to PDF, the following error is
presented:

Error saving the document Untitled1:
Wrong Parameter
The operation was started uned an invalid parameter

643 continues operating fine after this error.

When the file is saved normally after this,
attempting to export to PDF will crash 643 with an
unrecoverable error.

When attempting to export a saved file to PDF from a
clean 643 start (i.e. open 643, type some text, save
file, export 2 pdf), an unrecoverable error will
occur.

OS is SuSE 8.0, X 4.2.0, KDE 3.0.0

Hi Martijn,

Yes this is now a known problem. The issue here is that the files
in the module "filter" were never properly installed by the setup
program (since "scp" had no entries to register the pdf filter
library).
In addition officecfg's TypeDetection.xcu is missing the code to set
up the pdf export filters (no pdf_writer_Export).

This all happened as a mistake and thus this feature is not
really available in 643 until we rectify this build issue and
release a followup build or the next build.

Please the mailing lists dev@openoffice.org and
dev@porting.openoffice.org last night and today to see the details.

BTW: I have ben able to hand edit the TypeDetection.xcu from a
template posted to dev@openoffice.org and use "regcomp" to register
the libpdffilter643l*.so file and then Exporting starts working
perfectly.

I will try to commit some fixes to the SRX643_OO tree soon once I
find out about all of the other pieces in the "filter" module and
what if anything needs to be done to turn them on as well.

Kevin

Comment 9 brant 2002-11-16 01:46:54 UTC
I am updating Platform/OS since this occurs for me on Windows XP. I
am also sending this issue link to Bugtoaster for this crash signature.
Comment 10 brant 2002-11-24 07:03:17 UTC

As mentioned on the qa dev list on March 5th I will close all resolved
<wontfix/duplicate/worksforme/invalid> issues. Please see this posting for
details. First step in IssueZilla is unfortunately to set them to verified.
