Hi,

I have the US English version of OpenOffice 2.2.1 on Windows XP SP2.  When I
first installed, the default language setting for documents was French.  My OS
is US English.  I tried setting it to English (USA) but every time I restart it
reverts back to French.  I even tried manually editing the Linguistic.xcu file,
but every time OpenOffice is loaded it overwrites the file with the fr-FR locale.

Close OOo and quickstarter.
Look whether you have got a file "linguistic.xcu" in
<installation path>\share\registry\data\org\openoffice\Office
Rename it.
If this solves the problem, you can delete that file.
