Description lars.nooden 2007-09-19 09:25:18 UTC
If a block of text is selected, and then Find & Replace is run with the Regex
option, then the entire selection is replaced, not just the string / expression
searched for.

Doesn't need to have Regular Expressions checked. True for any 'Replace' if you
make a selection and don't do a Find first, even if the text in the Search for
box is not present in the selection. Problem is there in 2.3.0 on Vista as well
as on m9 and #237 on XP. If there is no selection, clicking 'Replace' does a
Find first, which is correct. However, 'Replace All' works correctly.

Is this not P2 as it leads to data loss? In certain circumstances eg if using a
macro, it could be quite hard to notice what has happened.

Stefan,
can you please check if this is a langauge releated issue or not? thx!
Comment 7 stefan.baltzer 2008-06-09 15:13:59 UTC
This is NOT language-dependant. removed "[SV]" from summary.
