Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 81749
"could not create backup" error
Last modified: 2008-01-24 05:04:52 UTC
Client ooo2.04, server a linux fc3 running samba 3.01013. A single client trying to acces the file. Save must be pressed twice, because on the first time we get the error in Summary
the file is on the remote fc3 server client pc is running FC6 does not happen on a local ntfs volume
OOo is pretty outdated. Can you confirm this for OOo 2.3?
I can do that on another PC running FC6, with 2.2.13. None of the Windows clients in the same network segment and using the same server never suffered from that. I will try samba 3.0232 as well and let you know. Antonio
Tried with a client running fc6 w/ooo 2.0.4 (the current build shipped with the system) and a client running fc6 and samba 3.02476. The problem is there. I'm downloading the latest version of ooo for linux and I will install it on one fc6 box to test now
errata... where it is written: "and a client running fc6 and samba 3.02476" should be: "and a server running fc6 and samba 3.02476"
Confirmed with a fc6 client running oo 2.3.0. and a server running fc6 and samba 3.02476 and a server running fc3 and samba 3.01013 the error message persists. Now is "Error creating object" "Could not create backup copy"
server smb share mounted on the client always as cifs on fstab
Hello Moved to FC8, samba 3.02808 and Open Office 2.3.0-6.7.fc8 The problem vanished
Resolving as per acutron.
Now resolving.
Closing.
