Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 83048
Resizing Table Cells in Business Cards not possible
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:38:26 UTC
I used File-New-Business Cards to create business cards using Avrey format 8376. I then used Table-Insert to insert a three column table. I can use the drop down menus to resize the cells in the table, but I cannot resize the cells in the table by using the mouse and cursor as I can if I am doing the same thing in a document. (I do not know what RC1 means; I am using version 2.3.0.)
MRU->OD: it is not possible to resize table columns by using the mouse inside frames which are anchored "as character". You needn't create business cards to reproduce the frame, just an "as character" anchored frame containing a table...
OD->FME: Please take over, Thx.

Looks like this never worked correctly.
In Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 2, using OpenOffice 2.3.0. I was able to reproduce the bug using the steps mentioned in the first comment. I was also able to reproduce the same problem in XUbuntu 7.10. I have found a workaround to this problem. If you want to use your mouse to resize the columns and rows of a table in a business card then you could use the mouse to use the slider (on top for columns and on the left for rows) to resize the rows and columns of the table. The mouse pointer changes to the typical PLUS (+) like icon to tell you that you can resize the column/row now. I am also attaching a file that shows red colored circles on the sliders.
