Auto Filter - Functionality does not work

I use Calc to open spread sheets created in Excel. On trying to do the same, I
sometimes encouter issues with those files that need Autofilter.
The Autofilter only gives me 3 standard options:
1> All
2> Standard
3> Top 10
It does not list the content from which I can choose my filter criteria. The
same works if I open in MS Excel, and also the same works if I copy the data
and try it on a new spreadsheet in Calc itself.

Concern: This is a repeating issue with most of the excel spread sheets I am
trying to open through Calc and so bring it up to the forum.

Hi,

the problem is the filter range set by Excel. If Excel sets the Filter range
(needed for filter operations) to only one row, e.g. the developer of the
spreadsheet applied an autofilter just before some data was entered, Excel
automatically adds the new data to the range but did not store it with the file.
Therefore Calc and maybe other Applications can not set the Autofilter range
correctly. So you have two choices :

1.) Go to Data-Define range, select the Build in Autofilter range and modify the
values to the correct one. In your case to $I$111
2.) Remove the autofilter in Excel and apply it again.

This Issue is a double to Issue 55141
