Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 83644
Detective Traces misplaced
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:13:18 UTC
Detective only works correctly with sheets in 10 point Arial, otherwise Traces (markers) get out of line with cells they apply to
Could not reproduce using OOo2.3. Please describe step by step how to reproduce.
Zoom sheet to 100% view Ctrl+A Right-click any cell Set all cells to Default format Open style pane F11 Modify default style to 7 point arial in cell A5000 enter =A3000 Trace precedents Shift+F7 Arrow goes from A3059 to 5099 Zooming corrects Same for any other detective traces including trace error and mark invalid data
Hi Niklas, seems to be yours. Frank
I encountered the same issue in OOo3.0 via a different path: by modifying the cell sizes. Both horizontal and vertical positions are affected, see screenshot. Zooming corrects.

Created attachment 61063 [details] Misaligned detective trace and stretched sheet
The Misaligned detective2.png file needs the following clarifications * The sheet includes some matrix manipulations * The sheet includes some labels with subscripts and superscripts * The sheet stretches when the detective is used. In the picture, the columns L line up nice, whereas the columns AA are shifted with respect to each other. The picture is generated as follows: 1. Using Tools > Detective > Fill mode, the traces are applied. 2. PrintScreen captures the screen 3. The screen print is pasted in Paint 4. In Calc, all traces are removed 5. PrintScreen captures the screen 6. The screen print is pasted in Paint, and saved for submission here. Remarks: * The stretching issue occurs visibly only at 100% zoom factor. * The stretching issue is reproducable. * I tested also at 75% and 150%. The misalignment issue occurs also, but stretching is not visible. * Changing the zoom factor does not repair the misalignment as it did in the previous posts in this bug report.
