It would be great to be able to quickly cross reference headings (eg paragraphs 
formatted Heading 1, Heading 2 etc.), as well as Figure & Table captions. I am 
most interested in having the number of the heading, Figure, Table etc. 
referenced, not the full caption text.

In OOO one needs to define a bookmark, then make the cross reference.

In MSO the first step of defining the bookmark is done for the user (see 
attached pictures).

This is one feature that I use all the time.
