Description weixq 2007-12-12 03:55:56 UTC
1.Create a new Impress document.
2.Insert a picture in slide, dbclick the picture and then type some words in
it.
3.Choose the picture, Format-Text, choose the Text tab, and then select the
Adjust to contour option, click the OK button.
the result is that the text invisible.

And if draw an drawing object for example a Square of the Basic Shapes instead
of inserting a picture in the upper step 2, we can find the option is not
available.

Unfortunately "Adjust to contour" doesn't even work for simple curves.
1. New Impress Document
2. Draw simple Bezier curve (one arc)
3. Type some text
4. Choose from menu "Format -> Text"
5. Choose option "Adjust to contour"
=> Text dissapears

The text is still there, because if the option is deselected, the text
reappears.

qweixq: I cannot reproduce the picture problem. Please use the newest version of
OOo and try again. http://download.openoffice.org/680/index.html

The text should start at the left, top corner.

The effect "adjust to contour" is not available for the new drawing object type
"shape". Die text dialog is the same for all kind of objects and those which
cannot be applied are disabled. The right upper effects are for "shapes" and the
left ones for the old draw objects.

@boqomir: You must use a closed shape not a curve. If you need text along curve,
you have to use the old fontwork.

Hi,Regina, I have tried in the newest version downloaded from the link you
give me. And I find that this bug does not exist any more.

But the text is still aligned in centered.
Comment 4 Regina Henschel 2008-03-24 13:35:35 UTC
Horizontal alignment and writing direction are set in the paragraph properties.
You get them via format > paragraph or via toolbar, when you are in edit mode.

I'll going to close the issue. Please remove your votes.

Ho, I means when choosing the option, text is at the centered top

Sorry, I didn't change the issue state, and I don't know if I can do that.

Ho, sorry, I didn't vote. I agree with you to close this bug. It does not
exist in the new version.
