I have tested this issue in several platform and computers and I have a crash at:
- Ubuntu 7.10 and OpenSuSe 10.3 with OO 2.3, but
- Fedora Core 8 and Windows do not have this problem

The issue is the following:
When I apply an auto filter to a sheet with data and after that I delete the
rows filtered the program crash and delete some rows that are not to be deleted
and move some data to other cells. 
Is interesting that the problems occurs at Ubuntu 7.x and Open Suse 10.x,
distribution widely used.

I don't confirm with OOo 2.3.1 on OpenSUSE 10.3, please reproduce step-by-step.

it looks like you are hitting distro-specific bug.
Please try version 2.3.1 (official build by Sun, not distro-specific stuff) 
and report results.

No reaction in one and a half year. I'll close the issue for now.

Feel free to reopen it, if you notice the error in an actual, original OOo version.
