Description norbert2 2008-01-23 21:00:35 UTC
Hi.

Please...

- open the attached spreadsheet

- select the cell range A1 to A4

- hold down the left mouse button (lmb) over the selection

- move the selection to somewhere (while keeping the lmb hold down)

- enter some characters:

the results:
1. the characters ARE entered
2. the drag operation IS cancelled
3. the drag border REMAINS: This is not only a graphic glitch since it can be
scrolled!

All three things should not happen. Drag&drop should only be canceled by
pressing ESC.

It looks like this is a windows only bug.

Tested versions:

StarOffice 8 Product Update 9 Linux: NOT affected
OpenOffice 2.3.1 Windows: AFFECTED
OpenOffice 680m241 Windows AFFECTED

Solution: Entering characters should be ignored while dragging cells (like Linux
builds).

i can confirm this issue.
entering some text while dragging an area quits the current action, and quits
the action in a non-graceful way.

OS="Windows, all"
Comment 6 norbert2 2008-01-24 16:42:34 UTC
WindowsXP is the only Windows-OS which I have tested. But I guess that all
Windows-versions are affected.
