Description Unknown 2002-10-22 00:54:49 UTC
Unfortunately. OpenOffice appears unable to open files created by any Macintosh
Version of Word Earlier than "Office 2001" (Word 7), although Microsoft claims these
to be binary identical to their Windows v6 version. And cerainly, no v5x files
can be opened - and there's a LOT of those still floating around.

Anyway, Congrats! I bet Bill G and Steve B are is some Seattle drive cryingg in their beer!
With Open office, and something like the Debian package manager, The Gnu-Darwin
package manger, or Fink, it is now really, truly, absolutely to have a really full featured,
OS + apps installation that IS EASIER ON UNIX THAN WINDOWS!! Who'du Thunk it?
Incredib;eltimes we live in..

Attach one of the trouble mac documents to this issue that is supposed
to be v6 binary compatible and we'll have a look to see if its a
problem of ours.
