Description Andrea Pescetti 2008-01-29 22:17:51 UTC
OOo localisation27 Italian. Open Draw, then ImageMap Editor (Modifica -> ImageMap).

Click on the File Open icon.

The suggested filetype is
<Alle>
while it should be
<Tutti>

I checked with "2.4 RC5 Multilingual Italian version WIN XP:

Comment 4 Rainer Bielefeld 2008-03-17 05:53:25 UTC
I checked with "2.4 RC5 Multilingual Italian version WIN XP:
[680m11(Build9283)]" and also French, Lithuanian, Durch, Spanish UI. Always I
saw "Alle" as shown in i85702.png. (For my first test, I used the "save" button,
I'm sorrry).

So it seems to be a general problem.

@pescetti:
your OS is in Italian language?
Comment 5 Andrea Pescetti 2008-03-17 08:16:13 UTC
This, like all the other localization issues found during the Italian QA tests,
was checked on a variety of operating systems in Italian before reporting.
Comment 6 stefan.baltzer 2008-03-26 16:29:16 UTC
SBA: Affects all languages (except German :-).
I adjusted the summary to reflect the findings.
SBA->CL: Please proceed, thx.

The string is in:
https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/openoffice/trunk/main/svx/source/dialog/imapdlg.cxx

Maybe we can change it to * until we get a better solution?

"mseidel" committed SVN revision 1824669 into trunk:
#i85702#
Comment 16 Andrea Pescetti 2018-02-18 15:46:06 UTC
I'm not sure whether it is worse to keep the error or to "fix" it the way it was fixed in revision 1824669. The change will impact on all languages and there is really no advantage and no added readability by using "*" instead of "<Alle>". An untranslatable "<All>" (hardcoded in English) would probably be better than "*" in terms of readability for international users.

That said, I reported this bug exactly 10 years ago and in the meantime I've probably learned enough to fix it myself, so the current fix can stay as it is and if I find time for a proper fix I'll apply it.

please have a look for the Save As dialog (in the ImageMap). Here is an translated "All Formats" string. I'm pretty sure that this can be simply reused for the Open dialog to get what you want. ;-)
